NOTE: Disabling the Alps GlidePoint drivers will turn off the advanced features of the Touchpad, like the scrolling and tapping features. The basic Touchpad functions will continue to operate normally.
Click Start, point to Programs, and point to Accessories.
In the Accessories folder, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
At the "Microsoft System Information" box, from the menu bar, click Tools.
From the menu, click System Configuration Utility.
At the "System Configuration Utility" box, click the Startup tab. A list of programs that load when Windows starts will be displayed.
Locate the "AlpsPoint" entry in the list and click the check box next to it (clearing the check mark).
Click OK to close the "System Configuration Utility" box.
At the "System Settings Change" box, click Yes to restart the computer.
After the notebook restarts, the Alps GlidePoint drivers will be disabled. The Alps GlidePoint drivers can later be reenabled by repeating the steps above and selecting the check box next to the "AlpsPoint" entry.
