WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES
This package provides the update utility of the following Intel Management
Engine software.
- Management Engine Firmware
Refer to marketing materials to find out what computer models support Intel AMT.
Updating the software will fix problems, add new functions, or expand
functions as noted below.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED
1. Make sure to be logged on with an administrator account.
2. Refer to the Manual Update section, and download and extract the file.
3. Open a Command Prompt with the following steps.
[Windows 8]
1. Hold down the Windows logo key and press X to open a menu at the
lower-left area of the screen.
2. Select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu, and select "Yes".
[Windows 7/Vista]
1. Select Start, select All Programs, and then select Accessories.
2. Right-click/Press and hold Command Prompt, and select Run as
administrator.
3. Select Yes (Windows 7) or Continue (Windows Vista).
[Windows XP]
1. Select Start, and select All Programs, and then select Accessories.
2. Select Command Prompt.
4. In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter.

If you see any errors, check Device Manager to see if the following device
exists.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
Version Information section.
- You may need to confirm with your IT administrator if you need to update
Management Engine Firmware.
- Before updating Management Engine Firmware, make sure to connect an AC
power and fully charged battery pack to your system.
- You cannot down grade Management Engine Firmware version to any older version.
Manual Update
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Downloading file
1. Select the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows
will appear.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. In the window to choose Run or Save, select Save.
4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to, and select Save.
A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete.
Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating
that the download completed successfully.
Extracting file
5. Make sure to be logged on with an administrator account.
6. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
7. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click/double-tap it.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
9. In the Select Destination Location window, select Next. If you would like
to select a different folder, select Browse.
10. In the Ready to Install window, select Install. All the necessary files
will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
Installing files
11. Open a Command Prompt with the following steps.
[Windows 8]
1. Hold down the Windows logo key and press X to open a menu at the
lower-left area of the screen.
2. Select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu, and select "Yes".
[Windows 7/Vista]
1. Select Start, select All Programs, and then select Accessories.
2. Right-click/Press and hold Command Prompt, and select Run as
administrator.
3. Select Yes (Windows 7) or Continue (Windows Vista).
[Windows XP]
1. Select Start, and select All Programs, and then select Accessories.
2. Select Command Prompt.
12. In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter.

Example: C:DRIVERSWINMEMEUPDATE.CMD
13. Read the notice on the display, and press Enter.
Wait for about 3 minutes until the message "Update finished successfully"
is displayed.
14. Close the Command Prompt window, and then shut down the computer.
Finally delete the file saved in the step 4.
