WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES
This package installs the iSCT (Intel Smart Connect Technology) software.
Updating the software will fix problems, add new functions, or expand
functions as noted below.
This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED
[Mouse and Keyboard]
1. Hold down the Windows logo key and press X to open a menu at the lower-left
area of the screen.
2. Select Programs and Features from the menu.
3. Select Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology 4.2.xxx.
4. Check the product version in the Details Pane shown at the bottom of screen.
If not shown, select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane.
[Touch]
1. Press the Windows logo button to display the Start screen.
2. Swipe in from the bottom edge of the touchscreen to display the App bar.
3. Select All Apps.
4. Select Control Panel.
5. Select Programs.
6. Select Programs and Features.
7. Select Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology 4.2.xxx.
8. Check the product version in the Details Pane shown at the bottom of screen.
If not shown, select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Note:
- If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update
the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the
Version Information section.
- Need to remove any previously installed versions of the software from the system
before installing the iSCT 4.x software.
Manual Install
This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
Downloading file
1. Select the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows
will appear.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
3. In the window to choose Run or Save, select Save.
4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to, and select Save.
A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete.
Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating
that the download completed successfully.
Extracting file
5. Make sure to be logged on with an administrator account.
6. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
7. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click/double-tap it.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
9. In the Select Destination Location window, select Next. If you would like
to select a different folder, select Browse.
10. In the Ready to Install window, select Install. All the necessary files
will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9.
Installing files
11. Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and select
Finish.
12. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart
the computer.
Finally delete the file saved in the step 4.

Enabling/Disabling iSCT.
In order to change the iSCT settings, follow the instruction below.
(Note)
"Remote Wake" function is not supported on ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It can nnot be
changed to Enabled.
1. [Mouse and Keyboard]
Move the cursor to upper left on the screen.
[Touch]
Swipe in from the upper right corner on a touchscreen.
2. In Windows charm, select Search, the Search box will be displayed at the
upper left on the screen.
3. Type intel in the box.
4. [Mouse and Keyboard]
Move the cursor on Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology and click.
[Touch]
Tap the Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology.
5. Change the setting.
- To enable/disable iSCT, check/uncheck the checkbox next to "Always
Updated" in the Basic tab.
- To enable/disable Remote Wake, check/uncheck the checkbox next to "Remote
Wake" in the Basic tab.
- To change the update frequency, move the slide bar in the Basic tab.
- To change Start and End time of Extended Power Saving time, set the time
in the Advanced tab.

LIMITATIONS
- In S0-iSCT, the LED indicators act as same as S0 state. S0 is the power state
that the system is completely powered ON and fully operational. This is the
expected behavior on ThinkPad and not a problem.
