Windows 98 Supplement File

Notice:
-------
If you use the Disk to Disk recovery procedure or the Product Recovery
CD-ROM to restore the Windows 98 preload environment, you do not need
this package. This package is required when you install Windows 98
without the Product Recovery CD-ROM.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
Windows 98 Second Edition (4.10.2222A)
INSTALL WIN98SE APM VERSION
1. Copy all the cabinet files and installation programs in Windows 98
Second Edition retail CD-ROM to your hard disk as follows.
1-1. Make a temporary directory (for instance, C:WIN98) and make
sure enough hard disk drive space is available to store the
cabinet files and installation programs (the required free
space vary depending on the language of Windows 98).
1-2. Copy all the cabinet (.CAB) files and installation programs
from WIN98 directory of Windows 98 CD.
Type COPY src_cd:WIN98*.* tgt_drv: gt_dir and press Enter.
src_cd: Drive Letter of CD-ROM drive ( e.g. D:, E: ...)
tgt_drv: gt_dir: Drive Letter and Temporary directory made in
1-1 (e.g. C:WIN98)
2. Copy updated INF files from W98SE directory to the temporary
directory.
2-1. Extract the 1FO502WW to temporary directory.
For sample: C:DRIVERSW98SUPP .
2-2. Type "COPY C:DRIVERSW98SUPPW98SE*.* tgt_drv: gt_dir" and
press Enter.
tgt_drv: gt_dir: Drive Letter and temporary directory made in
1-1 (e.g. C:WIN98).
3. Start Installation from the temporary directory
3-1. Run "Setup.exe C:Win98APMINST.INF" in the temporary
directory.
3-2. Refer to the Windows 98 documentation and instructions on the
screen to complete the installation.

INSTALL WIN98GOLD APM VERSION
1. Copy all the cabinet files and installation programs in Windows 98
Gold retail CD-ROM to your hard disk.
1-1. Make a temporary directory (for instance, C:WIN98) and make
sure enough hard disk drive space is available to store the
cabinet files and installation programs (the required free
space vary depending on the language of Windows 98)
1-2. Copy all the cabinet (.CAB) files and installation programs
from WIN98 directory of Windows 98 retail CD.
Type COPY src_cd:WIN98*.* tgt_drv: gt_dir and press Enter.
src_cd: Drive Letter of CD-ROM drive ( e.g. D:, E: ...)
tgt_drv: gt_dir: Drive letter and temporary directory made in
1-1 (e.g. C:WIN98).
2. Copy updated INF files from W98SUPP directory to the temporary
directory.

2-1. Type COPY C:DRIVERSW98SUPPW98GOLD*.* tgt_drv: gt_dir
and press Enter.
tgt_drv: gt_dir: Drive Letter and temporary directory made in
1-1 (e.g. C:WIN98).
3. Start Installation from the temporary directory.
3-1. Run Setup.exe in the temporary directory.
3-2. Refer to the Windows 98 documentation and instructions on the
screen to complete the installation.

[IBMLCD: IBM LCD Color Profile Support]
NOTE: If the correct video driver has not been installed on the
system, install the video driver prior to the IBM LCD Color
Profile.
1. Unzip the package into a temporary directory.
2. Click right button on desktop to open Display Properties.
3. Select Settings.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Select Monitor then click Change.
6. Click Have Disk.
7. Specify the directory where ibmtplcd.inf and ibmtplcd.icm files
exist.
8. Click OK.
9. Select one panel from the list that corresponds to the one you are
using now.
10. Click OK.
11. Click Apply.
12. Select Color Management tab to make sure IBMTPLCD file is loaded.
IDE-APM : IDE-APM SUPPORT
Apply this patch to avoid resource conflict with Standard IDE HDD
Controller and ultra ATA Storage controller on APM Mode.
1. Click the reg file IDEAPM.reg
2. Click Yes at Are you sure you want to add the information in.
3. Click OK.
