Windows 2000 Supplement Files

Notice:
-------
- If you use the Disk-to-disk or CD product recovery option shipped with
your ThinkPad system to restore the Windows 2000 preload environment,
you do not need this package. This package is required when you install
Windows 2000 without the Product Recovery CD.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any
language system.
What This Package Does
----------------------
This package contains some supplement files to solve the conflicts or
problems for Windows 2000.
The following ThinkPad computers are supported:
- ThinkPad A20m, A21m, A22m
- ThinkPad A20p, A21p, A22p
- ThinkPad A21e
- ThinkPad A22e Celeron Model
- ThinkPad A22e Pentium Model
- ThinkPad A30, A30p, A31, A31p

- ThinkPad TransNote
* This Supplement package supports the following T30 ThinkPad systems:

[IBM LCD Color Profile Support]
Make sure that the correct video driver is installed prior to installing
this file.
1. Right-click the desktop to open the Properties panel.
2. Select the Settings button.
3. Click the Advanced button.
4. Select the Monitor tab.
5. Click the Properties button.
6. Select the Driver Tab and click the Update Driver button then, Hardware Update Wizard appears.
7. Select Display a list of known Drivers for this Device...
8. Click the Have Disk button.
9. Click the Browse button.
10. Change the directory for IBMTPLCD.
11. Select IBMTPLCD.INF, then Click the Open button and the OK button.
12. Select the correct model of IBM ThinkPad IPS xxxxx LCD Panel or IBM ThinkPad xxxxx LCD Panel.
13. Click the Finish button and the Close button.
14. Click the Color Management tab.
15. Click the Add button and select an icm file of IBMTPIPS or IBMTPLCDin %Root%system32spooldriverscolor directory.
16. Click the Add button and click OK.
Unattended installation
If you prefer unattended installation, follow process below.
1. Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath="folder for ICC Color Profile" under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt.
For example, OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERSOTHER"
2. Create the folder with the name of "folder for ICC Color Profile".
For example, c:DRIVERSOTHER
3. Put all the files within the folder created above.
Files are:
IBMTPIPS.icm
ibmtplcd.cat
IBMTPLCD.ICM
IBMTPLCD.INF
How to determine what version is installed:
Check the date stamp of each file which version is installed.

To check the date/time of these files,
1. Start Windows 2000.
2. Click Start, point to Search, then click Files or Folders.
3. Click the Name & Location tab.
4. In the Named: field, type the file name listed above table.
5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:).
6. Click the Find Now button.
Windows will now search your hard drive for the specified file.
If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed
on your system.
7. In the Found part of the window, select the file name.
8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column
to check the date/time of the each file.

(B) For the following ThinkPad Users:

1. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control panel.
2. Double-click the System icon.
3. Select the Hardware tab.
4. Click the Device Manager button.
5. Double-click PCMCIA adapters.
6. Double-click Generic CardBus Controller.
7. Select the Driver tab.
8. Click Update Driver.
9. Click Next.
10.Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).
11.Click Next.
12.Select Specify a location, and specify the path of the files.
13.Click OK.
14.Click Next.
15.Click Finish.
16.Click Close.
17.Double-click Generic CardBus Controller.
19.Repeat step 7 through step 17.
Unattended installation
If you prefer unattended installation, follow process below.
1. Create or Add OemPnPDriversPath="folder for TI PCI1520" under [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt.
For example, OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERSOTHER"
2. Create the folder with the name of "folder for TI PCI1520".
